The joys of budget travel!
follow me!
_I love to be out & about seeing things and discovering new places.
I love to explore places I've never been to before or discover something new in a favourite location.Britain is such a beautiful country & I am on a bit of a mission to see as much of it as possible.Which isn't as easy as it might sound, I'm not a rich woman, or even moderately 'well off' so things must be done on a budget at all times & Ive become rather expert at finding special offers & free places to visit. Sometimes we can have up to four kids in our 'travel group' & sometimes its just the two of us. Camping is great fun & cheap but very weather dependent. We've become quite the connoisseur of the 'Budget Hotel' & we never under estimate the fun that's to be had on a £9.50 'Sun' holiday. We've been to loads of different sites over the years. As well as short breaks & holidays we generally 'go out' most weekends to various attractions & organised events. I would recommend everybody with kids to join 'English Heritage' & 'The National Trust'. The money I have saved over the years is unbelievable & the days we've had out with picnics have kept the kids entertained for countless hours. Because we go to so many places it seems like the thing to do is to share our experiences & I hope you enjoy the blog & our reports on our adventures.I feel I will of accomplished something if even just one person is inspired to visit somewhere I've been. Here comes the bride...
Love is in the air here at Hazwell Cottage and we are now saving hard for our wedding next year.
This means we probably won't be having as many trips away this year so I shall concentrate on sharing some of my favourite places to visit in the historic properties guide & little days out guide. We have had a lovely little stay at York earlier this year to celebrate Mr Ploughs birthday. York is always a lovely place to visit & you can read all about it here. I still have a few stories to share with you from last years travels too so I best get cracking on with that soon! Meet the family......
Our 'travel party' tends to vary in size on each adventure as we are indeed a 21st century family made up of full time & part time children. The safety first roll-call of names in the blogs will read as :- myself & 'Mr Plough' ,'The Evil Genius' ,'Little Madam' , 'The Little Dude' and with the occasional company of 'The Yorkshire Belle'...
